Q: What's been the biggest transition from high school to collegiate soccer?
A: "I did not have high school soccer at my school. Our town was too small and football took the majority of the spotlight. In terms of the difference between club ball and college, the pace of the game is much faster and it's much more physical."
Q. It seems as if you've emerged as the starting goalkeeper, does being the starting goalkeeper as a freshman put on any added pressure?
A: "Being a freshman itself is enough pressure and being the starting goalie adds even more, but the team is so supportive. It helps to know that you have people behind you."
Q: What are the goals the team has this season?
A: "As a team we have lots of goals. Some of them are to win the Big XII championship, go one step further than last year in the NCAA tournament, set the tone to each game, and play hard for the full 90 minutes."
Q: What does coach Blitz expect from you and the team this year?
A: "He expects me to step up as a freshman and contribute to the team immediately. As far as the team goes, he wants us to step it up a notch and be a great team, not just a good one."
Q: What's the hardest thing about being a student-athlete?
A: "The hardest thing has to be balancing time between school, sports and just being a normal student."
Q: What do you think makes this year's squad special?
A; "This year's squad is special because everyone supports each other. The senior leadership on this team is wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a better group of teammates."
