The postseason honors continue to roll in for the Mizzou baseball team as a trio of Tigers has been named to the 2004 CollegeBaseballInsider.com All-America Teams.
Right-handed pitcher Garrett Broshuis has been named a second team All-American by the website. Earlier this week, he was selected to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-America third team. Broshuis finished the season with an 11-0 record, becoming just the third pitcher in Missouri history to record 11 wins in a season and the first since 1979. He was one of two Tigers selected to this season's All-Big 12 Conference First Team and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Big 12 Tournament.
First baseman Cody Ehlers and right-handed relief pitcher Mark Alexander were each named an All-American Honorable Mention selection. Ehlers led MU in nearly every offensive category last season. He was the Most Outstanding Player of the Big 12 Conference Tournament and was an honorable mention All-Big 12 selection for the third straight season.
Alexander set a new Missouri school record by appearing in 35 games for Mizzou this season. He had a 4-0 record and had 10 saves, which is second most in a season in MU history. The 10 saves also put him in a tied for sixth for career saves at Mizzou. Alexander was also an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection this year.
Last week, Broshuis was taken in the fifth round of the 2004 Major League Baseball First-Year Players Draft by the San Francisco Giants, while Ehlers was taken in the 11th round by the New York Yankees and Alexander was the 20th round pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
