March 31, 2004
Columbia, Mo. - A full plate of activities for all ages is planned the second weekend of April in Columbia in association with the annual spring football game.
The headline event is the Black & Gold Spring Game, which is set for a 2 p.m. kickoff at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, April 10th. The scrimmage will bring to a close the 2004 spring practice period, as the Tigers look to improve on an 8-5 season last year that ended with an appearance in the 2003 Independence Bowl. Admission to the scrimmage is just $3, or three canned food items, which benefit the Central Missouri Food Bank.
Prior to the scrimmage, kids of all ages are invited to check out the Mizzou Experience Interactive Fan Area on the North Concourse of the stadium. Beginning at 11 a.m., and running until kickoff of the scrimmage, the Mizzou Experience will feature a fun mix of free interactive games and exhibits for children and adults. A sampling includes pictures with Truman the Tiger and the Helmet Car, balloon animals and a magic show, among much more.
For the bargain hunters out there, the Tiger Team Store will be holding its popular spring sale at the Memorial Stadium store. The sale, which features 25-70% off Mizzou gear from Nike, Cutter & Buck, Antigua and more, as well as authentic game-worn jerseys from all sports, runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
