Day 1: NCAA Zone Diving Championships

Houston, Texas - After one day of competition at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships, several Tigers performed well but were unable to make the NCAA Championships cut. With two days of competition remaining, the Tigers are still looking for a national qualifier.

Sophomore Evan Watters recorded the highest finish of the Missouri divers as he placed fifth on the 3-meter board with the score of 513.30. Aaron Wionzek placed tenth on the 3-meter board with the score of 430.65.

On the women's side, freshman Kim Massaro led the Tigers with her 16th place finish on the 1-meter board. Massaro's score of 419.75 ranks her fourth all-time in Missouri history. Sophomore Nicole Frazier and junior Anna Massey placed 19th and 20th respectively.

To qualify for the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships divers must place in the top-two spots on any one board to receive consideration.

Tomorrow the men will compete on the 1-meter board while the women continue their competition with the 3-meter event.
