San Juan, PR - The University of Missouri women's golf squad had a slow start to their Spring season on Sunday. The Tigers played in the opening round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic at the Par 72, 6,016 yard Dorado Del Mar Golf Course in San Juan, Puerto Rico. They are in 13th after shooting a 317 in the opening round with two more rounds to play on Monday and Tuesday.
Sophomore Denise Knaebel was the Tigers' top individual performer on the day in 24th place firing a 76, only four strokes out of the top five. Sophomore Kelli Strubinger and junior Maria Ohlsson were the other two Tigers to finish in the top 50 with Strubinger in 38th place and Ohlsson in 44th firing rounds of 78 and 79 respetively.
