LAKELAND, Fla. - Senior Michael Radek (Chicago, Ill. / St. Ignatius HS) closed with an even-par 72 to place seventh and earn his second top-10 finish of the season Tuesday at the Matlock Collegiate Classic. It's the first event of the spring for the Mizzou men, who finished sixth out of 15 teams at the Grasslands Golf and Country Club.

Only 12 players shot lower than Radek on Tuesday, as the Tiger senior posted his first top-10 finish since a runner-up showing at the Mizzou-hosted Nestl? Purina Classic in October.

"I thought we played very well and did a lot of positive things today," Head Coach Tim Robyn said. "Our scores were pretty good, and it was a successful tournament for us. I was very pleased, especially, with Mike Radek's play. To shoot 139 in the last two rounds after coming out of the snow we've had is something we can move forward with coming into the next tournament."

Senior David Jenkins (Springfield, Mo. / Glendale HS / SMS) was just a stroke behind Radek on the day with his 1-over 73; that moved him up seven spots to 50th. Sophomore Ben Scott (Lancashire, U.K.) and freshman Trent Twaddle (Maryville, Mo. / Maryville HS) both fired 74s to finish tied for 23rd (223) and 32nd (224), respectively. It was Twaddle's first official tournament as a collegian after the freshman played unattached in the October Nestl? tournament.

Freshman John Kelly (St. Louis, Mo. / Christian Brothers College HS) closed the scoring for the Tigers with a final-round 75-230 to tie for 58th.

Memphis kept its five-stroke lead, shooting an aggregate even-par 288 to hold off Division II Georgia College & State, who had the same score on the day. Mizzou had the fourth-best round of the day and was just three strokes shy of fellow Big 12 member Kansas State, who carded a team 296-882 to place fifth.

Mizzou is next in action in two weeks, when the Tigers travel to San Antonio for the Roadrunner Intercollegiate at Oak Hills Country Club, March 1-2.
