
Tiger Tennis Ranked 34th in National Rankings

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri tennis team heads back home to face conference foe Kansas State on Saturday. The Tigers will do it with the highest ranking the program ha ever had; 34th in the nation. There are over 300 Division I collegiate tennis programs ranked by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The Tigers are riding a two-game winning streak that includes archrival Kansas and non-conference opponent Syracuse. Missouri is 10-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play, good for fifth in the conference, while the Wildcats are 7-4 overall and 2-2 in the Big 12, currently occupying sixth place.
The Tigers have received excellent performances from all of the players over the last two matches after losing two tough matches in Texas. The 34-ranked Tigers face the 54th-ranked Wildcats who are coming off a win against SMU. Missouri head tennis coach Blake Starkey said, ""It's a number and that's all. There's a lot of tennis in front of us, and we're just trying to focus on our next match." The match is set to begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday at the Green Tennis Center at Mizzou.
