Dec. 4, 2003
Q: Where did you grow up, and what was it like there?
A: I came from Rose Valley Pennsylvania, but I grew up in Laurel Maryland. Rose Valley is 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia, but it isn't really a city environment. It is kind of like Columbia- a small town.
Q: When you're not practicing your game, how do you spend the remainder your time?
A: When I am not playing tennis I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and boyfriend. I also like to go shopping, hang out at the beach, and I love to eat!
Q: Why did you choose to come to the University of Missouri?
A: I came to Missouri because it is a good school. I really liked the team and Blake, and it just felt like the right place for me.
Q: What did you decide to major in, and what do you plan on doing after graduation?
A: As of right now I am undeclared, but I am very interested in education as a career. I am not sure what I am going to do after graduation, but I would like to go back to Pennsylvania at some point, and I also want to start a family.
Q: Who has been your biggest inspiration for all that you have accomplished, and why?
A: My parents have been my biggest inspiration. They both played tennis and helped in my accomplishments to this point, while at the same time, pushing me to do well in school.
Q: Who is your favorite tennis player?
A: My favorite tennis player is Monica Seles because I always wanted to hit as hard as she could.
Q: How do you describe yourself, as a person, and as a part of the MU tennis team?
A: As a person I think I am hard working, and I want to excel at everything I do. As far as the team I am just part of a whole. We all add something to the team that is special and unique. What each girl brings is important because all of them put together make up the MU tennis team.
Q: What is your most anticipated game for this season and why?
A: Since I don't really know of many players or teams I am looking forward to playing everyone. I think all the matches will be a challenge and a great experience.
Q: What team or particular player, do you feel is going to be the biggest challenge to you in this upcoming season?
A: I don't really know much about particular players or teams, and will just be ready for everyone I meet.
Q: What do you expect from yourself as a player in the 2003-2004 season, are there any improvements that you have been working on?
A: All that I expect from myself is to improve my game. I think the only way I can do that is by working hard, giving my best effort, and having fun on the court.
Q: Can you give us some of your speculation of the upcoming season, including which player or players you feel will be most valuable to the team.
A: I think every player on our team is valuable. Each match counts for the team and no one is more important than any one else. I think we will all be pushing each other to work hard and have a good season, but I think we will have a great time while we work.
