Scouting the Jayhawks
Kansas enters Wednesday's match with a 14-9 overall record and a 6-6 Big 12 mark. The Jayhawks have dropped their last two matches, both five game losses, to Colorado and Kansas State. Against Kansas State, KU won the first two games before KSU came back to win the final three games. Four of the Jayhawks six losses in the Big 12 have been five-game matches, including a five-game loss to Mizzou on Oct. 1 in Columbia. Kansas is 7-4 at home this season and 4-2 in home conference matches.
The MU-KU Series
Mizzou has won the last three meetings and six of the last seven matches against Kansas. The Tigers hold a 38-30 lead in the all-time series between the two teams. KU leads the series in Lawrence 14-11, yet Missouri has won the last four matches played on the Jayhawks' home court.
A Look Back
The Missouri Tiger volleyball team dropped its second consecutive match, as Texas A&M defeated MU, 3-2 (30-21, 13-30, 30-28, 27-30, 15-13) on Saturday at the Hearnes Center.
After Texas A&M controlled the opening game, taking the 1-0 match lead with a 30-21 win, Mizzou not only took control in game two, but dominated the Aggies. Mizzou scored the first five points of the game and built on that lead on its way to a 30-13 blowout victory. The Tigers had no hitting errors and hit .606, well above its .132 game one hitting mark, to tie the match.
Neither team was able to take control in each of the next two games. The lead switched hands several times in game three before the Aggies were able to come away with the 30-28 win. Mizzou forced a game five, by winning the fourth game by a 30-27 score. Like game three, neither team was able to gain much of a lead. The game was tied at 26-26, when Mizzou was able to score four of the next five points for the game victory.
The Tigers took the early lead in game five, jumping out to a 3-1 lead. Texas A&M came back, tying the score at six and then taking the lead away from MU. Mizzou responded, taking the lead right back. The teams continued to trade points as neither team held more than a one point lead until the final 15-13 score, with the Aggies on top.
For the second time this season, the Tigers recorded more than 100 digs, setting a new season high with 108 against Texas A&M. Sara Parks led Mizzou, setting a career high with 26 digs on Saturday. She was joined by three others who reached 20 digs for MU. Jessica Vander Kooi, Shen Danru and Juliana Godoi all had 20 digs.
Danru added 22 kills for her 11th double-double of the year, while Vander Kooi had 11 kills to record her sixth double-double. Lindsey Noll had a career night, with a career-best 20 kills to go along with two solo blocks and one block assist. Lisa Boyd also set a career-high in kills with 16.
A record crowd of 2,344 fans was in attendance, breaking the old mark of 2,155 set on Oct. 26, 2002 against Texas.

Following Wednesday's match, Missouri has six matches left in the regular season. The Tigers return home for back-to-back home matches starting with Nebraska at 7 p.m. on Saturday, followed by Kansas State at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
