Seven NCAA Tournament qualifying teams appear on the 2004 Missouri Baseball schedule, released on Thursday. The Tigers will open the season with a tournament in Phoenix, with their first game against Nevada on Feb. 13. Mizzou has 27 scheduled home games during the 2004 season.
Missouri will also travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for an early season tournament before opening the home portion of its schedule on Feb. 27 against Youngstown State. The Big 12 Conference season will open for MU on March 26, when the Tigers host Kansas State for a three-game series at Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field.
Also returning to the schedule in 2004 is the Wood Bat game between Missouri and Saint Louis. That game will be played on April 28 in O'Fallon, Mo.
MU has an all-time record of 832-595 against its 2004 opponents. There are five teams on the schedule that the Tigers will face for the first time in school history.
Last season, Tim Jamieson's squad finished 36-22, advancing to the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 1996. The 2003 Tigers finished fourth in the Big 12 Conference with a 15-11 league record.
