Scouting the Cornhuskers
Nebraska had its 78-match Big 12 Conference win streak snapped last Saturday when Kansas State defeated the Huskers 3-2 in Lincoln, Neb. The loss also snapped a 42-match home winning streak. Nebraska won the first two games of the match before Kansas State rallied to win the next three, including a 15-8 game-five victory. The Huskers are 15-2 on the year and 7-1 in the Big 12. Their only other loss of the season came to No. 10 Georgia Tech. The Cornhuskers fell to No. 8 in the USA Today/AVCA Top 25 this week after the loss to Kansas State. Last season, NU was 31-2 on the year and won the Big 12 Conference with a perfect 20-0 record. The 2002 Huskers reached the Regional Finals of the NCAA Tournament and finished ranked No. 5 in the nation.

The MU-NU Series
Nebraska holds a commanding 56-2-1 lead in the all-time series. The last win for MU in the series was in 1982, a five-game win in Columbia. The only other win came in 1977 in Lincoln. The Cornhuskers are one of just two teams in the Big 12 Conference that Susan and Wayne Kreklow have a losing record against.

A Look Back
The Missouri volleyball team defeated Texas in a three-game sweep 30-19, 30-26, 42-40 for its seventh straight win over the Longhorns, last Saturday in Columbia. The final game of the match was the longest game in MU volleyball history as the Tigers fought off five game points by Texas and finally took the win on their seventh game point. Mizzou held the lead for much of the first two games as it took a quick 2-0 lead in the match. However, Texas was the one to jump out to the lead in game three, holding that lead for most of the game. Trailing 23-27, MU rolled off four consecutive points to tie the game at 27. The two teams then traded points until an ace by Juliana Godoi game the Tigers the 42-40 win and the match victory. In the three years that rally scoring has been in effect in NCAA Volleyball, the Tigers have reached the 40-point mark just once before. Last year against Northwestern in the NCAA Tournament, MU defeated the Wildcats 40-38 in game four. In 2001, Missouri lost a 40-38 game two to Illinois, also in the NCAA Tournament. Shen Danru had 17 kills and Lindsey Noll had 13 to go along with a .500 hitting percentage. Lindsey Hunter recorded 49 assists and 16 digs for her second double-double of the year and 12th of her career. Sara Parks added 10 digs for Missouri. Mizzou improves to 13-4 on the year and are 6-2 in the Big 12 Conference, while Texas drops to 9-7 overall and 4-3 in league play.
