The University of Missouri tennis team has two Tigers ranked in the Top 30 of Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Fall Central Regional rankings.
Junior Urska Juric is ranked #2 in the Midwest after a strong fall campaign that included a 9-2 run at the All-American Championships, and reaching the finals of the 64-field Central Regional singles tournament. Sophomore Katka Sevcikova is ranked #24 following an impressive 9-2 fall season. Freshman Mary Barry, ranked 5th at the beginning of the season last year, is not ranked to start this year.
Juric and Sevcikova combined to win the Central Region Doubles Championship for the second consecutive year, and are ranked #1 in the Central region. This marks the first time a Missouri tennis duo has ever had a #1 Central region ranking.
The Big 12 Conference has 13 singles players ranked in the Top 30, and four doubles teams are also ranked. The ITA releases its preseason national rankings on January 13th.
The Missouri tennis team opens its 2003 season on January 25th when they host Eastern Illinois at the Green Tennis Center.
