Rusty Groth and Megan Duncan Earn Lathrop & Gage Weekly Award

Columbia, Mo. - University of Missouri senior football player Rusty Groth (St. Louis, Mo.) and senior soccer player Megan Duncan (Tulsa, Okla.) have been named the Lathrop and Gage Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of September 15, 2003. The announcement was made by the University of Missouri Department of Athletics.

Groth, a business administration major with a 3.29 GPA, volunteers as a mentor in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. He also donates time to the Central Missouri Food Bank.

On the field, the senior defensive lineman has appeared in each of the Tigers' four games in the 2003 season. He has totaled four tackles, including one for a loss, as well as one quarterback hurry.

Duncan, a business major with a 3.24 GPA, is involved with the Truman Club Winter Social and the Columbia Twilight Festival. In addition to those services, Duncan also participates in the Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) Food Drive.

The senior goalkeeper has appeared in three games for the Tigers this season, including two starts. She has a record of 2-0, with one shutout and a goals against average of .889.
