The Missouri Tigers moved into the national rankings for the first time since the end of the 1998 season today when they were ranked 23rd in the latest Associated Press Top-25 poll, which was released today.
The last time MU was ranked in the AP poll was during the 1998 season, when the Tigers were in the rankings virtually all season, and ended the year ranked 21st (AP) and 25th (Coaches) after going 8-4 and winning the 1998 Insight.com Bowl. MU climbed as high as 13th that season.
Mizzou, at 3-0 for the first time since 1981, looks to close a perfect non-conference schedule this Saturday as they play host to the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders (0-3). Kickoff at Faurot Field/Memorial Stadium is set for 1 p.m.
Plenty of good seats remain available for Saturday's game, and can be purchased by calling the MU Ticket Office at 1-800-CAT-PAWS (884-PAWS locally), or can be ordered online at www.mutigers.com.
