Ashley Patten Wins Junior National 800

PALO ALTO, Calif. - University of Missouri freshman Ashley Patten (Clarkston, Mich.) finished the 800-meter run today in first place at the USATF Junior National Championships at Palo Alto, Calif. Patten ran the race in 2 minutes, 7.60 seconds, just 23 hundredths of a second off a personal best.

"She was in the lead all the way," said Head Track and Field Coach Rick McGuire. "We are very proud of her and we are excited to have her qualify for the Pan-American games."

The Pan-American games will be held July 18-20 in Barbados. Athletes must be under the age of 19 to qualify for the games.
