Radek Named All-American Scholar

June 16, 2003

Columbia, Mo. - University of Missouri senior golfer Michael Radek was honored for both his accomplishments on and off the course earlier this past week. He was recently named a Golf Coaches Association of America All-American Scholar. Radek had earned Academic All-Big 12 first-team honors earlier this past season.

Radek becomes the fifth player in MU school history to garner this award. Former recipients include Jim Knoesel, Chuck Green, Billy Wynn and Steve Sowers.

"Mike is a deserving recipient of the All-American Scholar award," head men's golf coach Tim Robyn said. "He is committed to excelling as a student and as an athlete and this award represents the culmination of three years of effort in the classroom and on the golf course."

Radek had two Top 10 finishes this season, including a second place finish at the Nestle Purina Classic, the tourney hosted by the Tigers in St. Louis at the Missouri Bluffs Country Club. He is majoring in business.
