The Missouri volleyball team participated in two tournaments this spring as it continues preparation for the 2003 fall season. The Tigers traveled to Champaign, Ill. on the weekend of April 19-20 and Los Angeles, Calif. on May 2-4.

In Illinois, MU was joined by host school Illinois, Illinois State, DePaul, Michigan State and Jefferson College. The format for the tournament was to play each team in a 50-minute timed match. The Tigers defeated Michigan State, DePaul and Jefferson College. They lost to Illinois and were tied at one game a piece after 50 minutes of play against Illinois State.

Mizzou then traveled to the University of California in Irvine for its next tournament. Each match was a two-game match without the time limit that was in place at Illinois. The Tigers won one and lost one match against UC-Irvine. They defeated Oregon State and tied with UC-Santa Barbara.

The 2003 fall season will open up for Missouri on Aug. 29 with the start of play in the 2nd Annual Quality Inn Tiger Invitational in the Hearnes Center. Joining the Tigers in the tournament will be Arkansas, Toledo and Montana State.
