Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Missouri men's golf team finished 36 grueling holes on Tuesday and is in ninth place following the opening two rounds of the Big 12 Men's Championship, which is being played at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla. The Tigers struggled mightily in the first round shooting a 318 for the opening 18 holes and were in 12th place, but then made a major rally in the next 18 of the day, shooting a 306 to climb back into the hunt.
Junior David Jenkins was the top Tiger individual, shooting an opening round of 79 to open the tourney, and then bouncing back with a 74 in the second round to finish the day in a tie for 15th at +13 (153). Jenkins is just five strokes out of the top five and six strokes out of the top two heading into the final round.
Senior Chris Happ shot rounds of 79 and 77 on the day and is currently tied for 28th. Junior Brandon Knaub was the Tigers top performer in the first round, shooting a 78 in the opening round followed by a 79 in the second round and enters tomorrow's final round in tied for 34th. Junior Michael Radek and senior Cory Ewert finished the day in 50th and 57th position respectively.
