After a sweep of UMKC on Tuesday, Missouri returns to Big 12 Conference play this weekend as it travels to Waco, Texas for a two-game series with Baylor. The Tigers took the two games from UMKC, 5-3 and 5-1, to move to 26-15 on the year. They have a 7-4 Big 12 Conference mark and are currently in fifth place in the conference standings with six game remaining on their regular season schedule. Baylor enters the weekend with a 28-23 record and is 2-11 in the Big 12. The Bears are coming off a 4-0 loss to No. 4 Texas on Wednesday. Mizzou leads the all-time series with Baylor 13-8. Last year, the Bears recorded a sweep of the two games held in Columbia.

A LOOK AT THE BEARS
Baylor enters the weekend series with a 28-23 record and a 2-11 Big 12 Conference mark. The Bears fell to No. 4 Texas on Wednesday by a 4-0 score and have lost in their last four outings. BU opened the season by winning its first six games and at one point in the year put together an eight-game winning streak. The two conference wins for the Bears have come over Texas A&M and Texas Tech. Kim Wilmoth leads BU with a .368 batting average. She also leads the team in hits (56) and triples (4). Baylor is an aggressive team on the base paths, as six Bears are in double digits in stolen bases. Wilmoth leads with 19 steals in 31 attempts. Kelly Osburn is 16-for-19 and Harmony Schwethelm is 15-for-20. Cristin Vitek leads the Bears' pitching staff, with a 2.03 ERA with 12 wins on the season. Vitek is 12-12 on the year, while Katie Decker is 7-6 with a 2.15 ERA. Glenn Moore has compiled a record of 112-63 in his three years as the BU head coach. He has a career record of 251-105 in his sixth season as a head coach. Missouri leads the all-time series with the Bears 13-8, but dropped both games between the two teams last season.

ON TAP
The Tigers will travel to Kansas on Monday for a doubleheader with the Jayhawks. Game one will start at 3 p.m. Mizzou returns home to face Nebraska in a two-game series next weekend to close out the regular season. The Big 12 Tournament is May 1-4 in Oklahoma City, Okla.

LAST TIME OUT
Missouri recorded a sweep over in-state foe, UMKC, in a doubleheader on Tuesday. The Tigers won game one 5-3 as Ingrid Werner recorded her sixth complete game of the year. Seven Tigers had hits in the first game with the biggest coming off the bat of Daisy Mettlach, who connected for her fourth home run of the year. Mizzou completed the sweep as Samantha Fleeman pitched a complete-game two hitter. Again, seven Tigers had hits, including back-to-back home runs from Heather Kunkel and Rachael McGinnis in the first inning. The homer for Kunkel was her fourth of the year and McGinnis now has 10 for the season.

CENTURY MARK
With the win in game one of MU's doubleheader against UMKC on Tuesday, Ty Singleton reached the 100-win mark for his career heading into the weekend. Singleton currently has a 101-61 all-time record as a head coach. He is 26-15 in his first season at Mizzou. Prior to coming to Mizzou, he lead Northwestern State to a 75-45 record in two seasons with the Demons.

THE MAC ATTACK
Mizzou junior Rachael McGinnis' is currently fourth on the all-time home runs list at Mizzou, with 19 career homers. She leads the Tigers with 10 home runs this season, which is second best in the Big 12 Conference. She is currently tied for third in the conference in batting with a .367 mark. McGinnis is fourth in on base percentage (.445) and leads the Big 12 in slugging percentage (.708). McGinnis leads the team with a .367 batting average. She also leads MU in hits (44), home runs (10), RBI (29) and runs scored (29). She is tied for the team lead in triples (3) and is second in stolen bases (8) and tied for third in doubles (5).

NO RUNS FOR YOU
When Oklahoma State scored in the bottom of the second inning in last Saturday's game, it was the first runs MU had allowed in the month of April. The Tigers had a string of 38 innings in which they did not allow a run. They had five consecutive shutouts, defeating Iowa State twice, Southeast Missouri State twice and Texas once.

KALKA RECEIVES BIG 12 HONOR
Erin Kalka was selected as the Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week on April 8 after she led Mizzou to a 1-0 win over No. 5 Texas on April 5. The shutout was her seventh of the season as she struck out eight and allowed just three singles to the Longhorns. The win marked the second three-hit shutout over a ranked opponent for Kalka in a span of two weeks. On March 26, she recorded a three-hit shutout over No. 4 Oklahoma. She recorded two more wins and two more shutouts on April 10. Kalka pitched 15 scoreless innings and struck out eleven while allowing only four hits in the two games against Iowa State For the season, Kalka is 14-9 with a 2.02 ERA. She has struck out 162 batters in 152.2 innings pitched. Opposing batters are hitting just .197 off Kalka, and she leads MU with 17 complete games and nine shutouts this season.

TO BE THE BEST,YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE BEST
Mizzou's 1-0 win over No. 5 Texas on April 5 was the third win for MU over ranked opponents. The Tigers defeated No. 4 Oklahoma by a score of 2-0 on March 26 in Norman, Okla. The following weekend, MU took a game from No. 20 Texas A&M, defeating the Aggies 6-5 in 10 innings in the second game of a two-game series. Missouri is 3-8 against Top 25 teams and 2-3 against teams in the Top 10.
