LAFAYETTE, La. - The University of Missouri men's golf team finished competition at Lousiana Classics Golf Tournament in Lafayette, Lousiana today. Tiger junior David Jenkins finished tied for fifth and the Tigers as a team finished 11th.
Jenkins fired a final round 70 to finish 3-under par and moved up from tied for 14th place to fifth place. Jenkins three-round total of 213 was just five strokes back of individual champion David Inglis of Tulsa. SMU was the team champion finishing 6-under par as a team. Missouri Senior Cory Ewert had a remarkable turnaround for the Tigers. After shooting an opening-round 78, the Missouri veteran shot a 71 in the second round and a third round 72.
The Missouri men's golf team is in action next at the Birkdale Collegiate Classic in Huntersville, North Carolina next weekend.
