Men's Golf in Second at Rice Intercollegiate

Cypress, Texas - The University of Missouri men's golf team is in second place following Monday's first two rounds of the Rice Intercollegiate tournament in Cypress, Texas. The Tigers finished the day with a two-round effort of 584, eight over par and 13 strokes behind leader Northwestern University.

Senior Chris Happ led the way individually for the Tigers, and sits in second place after the first day. Happ shot an opening round 70 (-2) and followed it with a 68 in the second round. Happ is just two strokes behind tournament leader Scott Harrington of Northwestern.

Juniors Brandon Knaub and David Jenkins also had solid first days for the Tigers, finishing in the top 10. Knaub carded a 74 in the opening round, and then improved with a 71 (145, +1) and is tied for seventh-place. Jenkins (74-72) sits at +2, in a five-way tie for tenth.

Michael Radek shot a 156 (79-77). The junior is tied for 54th place (+12). Senior Cory Ewert rounded out Missouri's scoring, tying for 62nd place. Ewert shot a 161 (85-76) Monday.
