
Mizzou Swimming Earns High Academic Honors

COLUMBIA, Mo.- The University of Missouri's Men's Swimming and Diving Team ranked 10th in the nation in team grade point average for the winter semester according to the College Swim Coaches' Association of America. The Tigers had a combined GPA of 3.17 this past winter.
Mizzou's women's team also received high marks. The women posted a 3.24 team GPA in the winter semester.
The College Swim Coaches voted six individual Missouri swimmers as national standouts. Senior to-be Radu Miclaus earned first team Academic All-American honors with a 3.70 GPA. Miclaus was a NCAA qualifier in the butterfly. Teammate Matt Ferrarelli earned honorable mention Academic All-America status.
Four women's swimmers were tabbed honorable mention Academic All-Americans. Seniors to-be Tiffany Bohon, Katy Chandler and Ellen Cross and sophomore Becca Dawson were all named honorable mention Academic All-Americans.
"I think these honors say a lot for what we are trying to accomplish in our program at Missouri," said Head Coach Brian Hoffer. "Our elite athletes are taking care of business in the classroom as well. I think that says a lot for our program."
