The Green Tennis Center at Mizzou has been selected as the site for the 2002 Show-Me State Games Tennis Tournament.
"This will be great exposure for the club, and we jumped at the chance to host," said Jason Falzone, head pro at the Green Tennis Center. "A lot of players are excited about the change of venue and playing in our environment."
Six days of competition will be played out over two weekends. The tennis will begin on the weekend of July 19-22 and will continue the following weekend, July 26-28. Draws will be posted at the Green Tennis Center on July 11th. Participants should check in on Friday, July 19 and should pay close attention to their start times. Participants are also asked to wear tennis-only shoes, as the courts were resurfaced two weeks ago.
The Show-Me State Games is an Olympic-style sports festival for Missouri amateur athletes of all ages and ability levels. It has grown into one of the largest state games in the country. The Green Tennis Center opened in January and is the home court for the MU women's tennis team. The facility is located off Providence Road, just south of Reactor Field.
