
Missouri Downs No. 19 Texas A&M, 11-10

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Missouri scored all 11 of its runs in three innings and had to wait out a big inning from Texas A&M in Friday's Big 12 Conference game between the two schools at Olsen Field.
Texas A&M scored six runs in its half of the ninth inning but Missouri hung on to record the 11-10 win in the first game of the three-game series. Missouri improves to 21-19 overall and 8-10 in Big 12 play while No. 19 Texas A&M is 31-17 and 10-9.
In the Tigers' half of the third inning, Lee Laskowski legged out a two-out infield single before MU got back-to-back home runs. Jody Roughton hit his seventh of the season, a two-run shot to left field, before Mick Weiss hit his ninth of the season. Weiss' shot, which tied his career-high of nine homers, was a solo homer to right field for a 3-0 lead.
Texas A&M plated one run in its half of the third inning when Coby Mavroulis doubled down the right-field line to score Ryan Wardinsky.
In the fourth inning, Jayce Tingler beat out an infield single to extend his hit streak to a career-best 16 games. The Aggies plated two runs in the their half of the fourth inning to tie the game, 3-3.
Missouri took the lead with four runs in the sixth inning. Luke Cassis reached on an error before Felipe Tetelboin singled. After two outs, W.T. Hoover singled to center field to score Cassis. Cody Ehlers then ripped a double into the right-field corner to score Tetelboin and Hoover and give the Tigers a 6-3 lead. Ehlers scored when Laskowski singled to center field and give MU the 7-3 lead.
Texas A&M used two singles and a wild pitch to score a run in the seventh inning.
Missouri got a leadoff walk from Brent Lacy in the eighth inning before Tingler and Hoover each singled to load the bases. Lacy scored on a passed ball for an 8-4 lead.
Another two run double by Ehlers in the eighth inning gave MU a 10-4 lead. Ehlers scored to give MU an 11-4 lead when Roughton reached on an error.
The Aggies scored six runs in the ninth inning but MU hung on for the win.
Garrett Broshuis struck out a career-best seven in the contest for the win. Ehlers had three hits while Tingler, Hoover, Laskowski and Weiss each had two hits.
The two teams meet Saturday in a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
