The Mizzou women's tennis team lost a tight 4-3 decision to Baylor on Monday at the Green Tennis Center. After dropping the doubles point, the Tigers were led in singles play by Katka Sevcikova, Kristina Olshanskaya, and Lucie Ruskova.
"We knew going in we'd have to play very well to win today," MU coach Blake Starkey said. "Our doubles was sloppy, and that's putting it mildly. But we bounced back in singles play. Even though it was a loss, given the opponent, I could say something positive about just about everyone's performance in singles. All in all, we played smart, and we again put ourselves in a position to win. This is a very young team, and I know we are learning a lot this season. We are very close. There are good things in store for this group. We'll eventually kick the door in."
