COLUMBIA, Mo.- The Missouri Tigers scrimmaged during the second half of practice on Thursday afternoon inside the Dan Devine Pavilion. The practice was the fifth of the spring for the Missouri football team and final practice until April 2.
The Mizzou defense allowed just one touchdown and gave up just two offensive plays of over 10 yards on Thursday. Each player on the first, second and third units participated in 16-to-20 plays.
Senior tight end Ben Frederickson caught a three-yard touchdown pass from Kirk Farmer on the first drive of the scrimmage. The touchdown was set up by a 30-yard reception by sophomore wide receiver Thomson Omboga.
Senior cornerback R.J. Jones was the standout of the scrimmage. Jones intercepted a pass thrown by Brad Smith, and later put a big-time hit on wide receiver Shirdonya Mitchell. The Tiger secondary was solid throughout the scrimmage. Redshirt freshman Justin Scott was also in on several plays.
