Missouri Soccer Sign Five Freshman for 2002

Columbia, Mo.-The University of Missouri women's soccer team announces the addition of five newcomers to the 2002 Tiger soccer team. Breanah Glynn, Jennifer Nobis, Erica Pusch, Amber Swinehart and Kyle Wilson have signed letters of intent to play for Mizzou as freshmen next season.
"This is the best recruiting class to date," MU Head Coach Bryan Blitz said. "We are so excited about what these players will bring to our team, both as athletes and people. It is a tremendously special recruiting class in both talent and character. We have no doubt they will help boost Missouri soccer to the next level."
An Aurora, Colo., native, Breanah Glynn was a three year starter and varsity captain at Grandview High School. She led her team to the state playoffs all three season and reached the Class 5A semi-finals as a junior. Glynn was a first team all-league player three-years running and was named first team all state and All-Colorado by the High School Coaches Association and the Denver Post as a junior. Glynn was a member of the Colorado Olympic Development Program from 1996-2001 and attended the Region IV ODP camp from 1998-2001. She played for the Colorado Girls Soccer Academy--the 2001 Colorado U17 State Cup champions and 2001 Region IV runners-up. She is a member of the Student Leadership Program. Glynn chose Missouri over Colorado.
Jennifer Nobis comes to Mizzou from Quincy, Ill. Nobis highlighted her career as a member of the Illinois and Chicago Tribune all-state teams as a junior last year. She holds the Quincy record for single season scoring with 43 goals and is second in all-time scoring with 89 career goals. As a member of the Blue Devils high school team, Nobis was named the Offensive Player of the Year three-years running. She played for the Busch Soccer Club, that won the U17 2001 Missouri State Cup and were 2001 Region II runners-up. She is a member of the National Honor Society. Nobis chose Mizzou over Texas A&M and Illinois.
As a junior at St. Joseph's Academy (Mo.), Erica Pusch was named first team all-conference, honorable mention all-metro and honorable mention all-state. She helped lead St. Joseph's to the 2001 Missouri state high school championship. She also served as team captain of the St. Joseph's field hockey team as a senior where she was named first team all-metro, all-conference and to the senior all-star team. The team was also the Missouri high school state runner-up in field hockey. Pusch is a member of the J.B. Marine club team that has been the Missouri state runner-up for the past two seasons. She was a three-year honor roll student. Pusch chose Missouri over Illinois and Santa Clara.
Amber Swinehart joins the Tiger squad after starting for the Arapahoe High School (Colo.), varsity squad three years running. She was named first team all-league as a sophomore and was named Arapahoe's Offensive Most Valuable Player. As a junior last season, Swinehart was again named first team all-league, offensive MVP and to the All-Colorado team. She is an honor roll student. She played for the Colorado Girls Soccer Academy --the 2001 Colorado U17 State Cup champions and 2001 Region IV runners-up. She was a teammate of Breanah Glynn.
Kyle Wilson rounds out Mizzou's signees after playing varsity soccer at Olathe South High School (Kan.) Wilson helped her team to the Kansas Regional 6A championship in 2000. She was a two-time Olympic Development state player in 1996 and 2000 and attended the ODP Regional Camp in 2000. She is a member of the Udinese Soccer Club. Kyle has served as the student body president at Olathe South for the last three years. Wilson chose MU over Kansas.
The 2002 Tiger freshmen class joins an already seasoned squad of national caliber athletes as they head into the fall season. Missouri plans to spend its spring season taking on some of the country's finest teams this April. On the schedule for Missouri is, Clemson, Santa Clara, Notre Dame, California, and the Women's United Soccer Association professional league team the Atlanta Beat.
