COLUMBIA, Mo. -
Both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams will compete at the University of Minnesota Invitational this weekend at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The three-day meet starts on Friday, November 22 and finishes on Sunday, November 24. Preliminaries will start at 12:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, with the finals starting at 6:00 pm. On Sunday, prelims begin at 10:00 am and the finals for those events begin at 3:00 pm.
The invite includes 23 NCAA teams, including men's top 25 teams Minnesota (#8), Wisconsin (#14) and Tennessee diving team (#9). The #20 ranked Tiger women's team will see two ranked teams, #14 Wisconsin and #16 Notre Dame.
"This is quite a test for us," said Head Coach Brian Hoffer, "The caliber of teams that are competing at the Invite will hopefully bring out the best in our teams. I know our teams are pumped, they haven't competed in two weeks and have been training really hard during that time. So I'm going to let them loose and see what happens. I hope the level of competition and the quality of pool that we are competing in will result in some good performances."
Results for the Minnesota Invitational will be available through both the Missouri men's and women's web site via a link on the right column of the sites labeled Minnesota Invitational.
NOTES FROM THE DECK: The Mizzou women's team moved up in this weeks CSCAA top 25 poll to #20, the highest ranking ever by a Missouri swimming and diving team
