Missouri Women's Golf Team Signs Standout

Nov. 20, 2002

Lyndsey Adams, a senior at Joplin's McAuley Regional High School, has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Missouri starting next fall, as announced Wednesday by Missouri women's golf coach Stephanie Cooper. Adams is a four time state qualifier, a three-time all-state selection, and finished third this past fall at the Missouri state high school tournament. She won the individual title in her district in her sophomore year and became a four-year all-District pick.

"We are very excited about signing Lyndsey," women's golf coach Stephanie Cooper said, "She is strong and athletic and has a lot of potential to be a great player for us. She has committed herself to golf and she will be playing a lot of winter tournaments to prepare for next fall. We are very happy Lyndsey will be joining our Tiger family."

Adams was also a three-year letter winner and all-conference pick in basketball where she helped her team earn a district and regional championship-as well go undefeated through the conference-in the 2001-02 season. She is the daughter of Douglas and Rebecca Adams of Joplin.
