Lisa Morris Named to Academic All-District Second Team

Nov. 14, 2002

Missouri senior Lisa Morris has been named to the 2002 Verizon Academic All-District Second Team, as announced on Thursday. Morris was a member of the Academic All-District First Team last year and was a second team selection in 2000.

Morris is a mechanical engineering major from Overland Park, Kan., and holds a 3.85 GPA. She has been named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team in each of her previous three seasons at Mizzou.

Her senior year at MU has been cut short after she tore her anterior cruciate ligament on Oct. 26 against Texas. Last season she missed the final six matches of the year due to a blood clot in her right shoulder. Before her injury this year, Morris was averaging 3.43 kills per game and had a hitting percentage of .267

Morris ranks in the top five in three categories of the Mizzou record books. With 1,076 career kills, she is in fifth place in MU history. She is also in second place in kills per game with a career average of 3.55 and is third in career attacks with 2,987.
