- With Missouri's win, the Missouri-Kansas Border War series - the second-oldest in the country and the oldest series west of the Mississippi River - now stands tied at 51-51-9.
- Missouri's 267 yards rushing as a team continues the tradition of rushing dominance in the MU-KU series. Either Missouri or Kansas has now rushed for 200-plus yards in 15 of the last 17 years of the series.
- Justin Gage's 62-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter - the longest of the Gary Pinkel era - set a new MU career record for touchdown catches. Gage passed Mel Gray (1968-70), who had 14 TD receptions in his Mizzou career.
- The reception also marked a career long for both Gage and freshman QB Brad Smith, who also hooked up for a 53-yard touchdown last week at Texas Tech.
- Gage's catch also marked the first time since 1989 that Missouri has scored the first touchdown of an MU-KU game, and the first points overall since 1993.
- Senior TB T.J. Leon made his first start since 1999, his freshman year.
- Senior OS Gary Anthony made his first start of the season on Saturday.
- Leon's 23-yard gain down the left sideline in the second quarter was a career long.
- Gage's 12-yard reception in the second quarter put him past Texas' Kwame Cavil as the Big 12 Conference's all-time leader in receptions. Cavil had 174 receptions at UT from 1997-99. He finished with four receptions for 77 yards and one touchdown.
- T.J. Leon had two touchdowns on the day, giving him four for the season and five for his career. He finished with a career highs of 104 yards on 17 carries.
- Brad Smith's 75-yard touchdown run in the third quarter is both a career long and also the longest MU run in the Pinkel era. He finished with 117 yards rushing on 15 carries, and was 9-of-16 passing for 135 yards and two touchdowns.
- Senior DT Keith Wright sacked Jon Weatherbie in the end zone with 5:28 left in the fourth quarter, giving Mizzou its first safety since the Southwest Texas State game last year.
- Freshman WR Chris Crosby made his first career reception with 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
