Tiger Cross Country Heads to New York for Brother Doyle Meet of Champions

The University of Missouri men's and women's cross country team will head to New York to race in the Brother Doyle Meet of Champions at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. Both the men's and women's teams are coming off first place finishes at the Missouri Cross Country Challenge. The men took the top two spots at the meet and finished with six of the top 12 positions. The women took the top five slots and nine of the top ten. Tiger Freshmen Valerie Lauver and Tim Ross won the individual titles and Lauver took Big 12 Runner of the Week honors.

This week the men's 8K race will involve 24 teams including 16th ranked Dartmouth and the host school, 21st ranked Iona. The women's 6K race includes 25 teams headlined by 21st ranked Cornell, #22 Wake Forest and #24 Yale. Missouri cross country head coach Jared Wilmes said, "Were in a position to do well. We're a young team and we want to see the progress we have made. This meet should be a good experience for our team." The Tigers are in action again next Saturday at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational in Chicago.
