The Missouri Tiger volleyball team held its third annual Black and Gold Match at the Hearnes Center in front of more than four hundred fans. The Black team won the exhibition intersquad match three games to one.
Senior Christi Myers led the Tigers in kills on the night totaling 13. Junior Mary Lauren Smith followed with 12 kills. Redshirt freshman Shen Danru had nine kills and sophomore Loretta McGovern recorded eight.
Freshman Lindsey Hunter led the Tigers in assist, handing out 31 in the match. Senior Chrissy Elder finished with 24 assists.
Redshirt freshman Lisa Boyd finished with eight blocks on the night, three of which were solo blocks. Boyd also recorded two service assists in the match.
The Tigers are just over a week from opening their season at the Oregon State Volleyball Showcase in Corvallis, Ore. on Aug. 30. The first home action for Mizzou will be the Quality Inn Tiger Invitational on Sept. 13-14.
