COLUMBIA, Mo. - After suffering a non-conference loss on Tuesday, Missouri (16-19) will play Saint Louis (14-19) in non-conference play Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field.
MU's Last Game: Cody Ehlers celebrated his 20th birthday with three hits, three runs scored and three runs batted in during the Tigers' 20-10 loss to No. 25 SMS on Tuesday. Jayce Tingler scored three runs and walked three times while extending his hit streak to 11 games. Tingler also had a 14-game hit streak earlier this season.
MU vs. Saint Louis: Missouri won both games last season to extend its win streak to 10 games over the Billikens and leads the series, 61-16.
Player of the Week! For the second time in his career, Lee Laskowski was chosen as the Big 12 Conference Player of the Week for the games between April 8-14. Laskowski hit .500 (8-of-16) with 10 runs batted in four games. Laskowski, a sophomore from Clayton, Mo., had three multi-hit games.
Who's Hot? In his last five games, Lee Laskowski is hitting .400 (8-of-20) with 10 runs batted in. Jayce Tingler is also hitting .400 (8-of-20) during that stretch and has scored seven runs. In the Tigers' last 10 games, Laskowski is hitting .410 (16-of-39) while Luke Cassis is hitting. 385 (15-of-39). Tingler is hitting .368 in his last 10 games. He also has scored a team-high 15 runs and is one of three individuals to drive in 12 runs. Cody Ehlers and Laskowski are the other Tigers to accomplish that feat.
Off And Running: Jayce Tingler has stolen 43 bases in his career to rank fifth all-time in that career chart. Dave Silvestri (1986-88) ranks fourth with 47. Tingler could crack the program's all-time Top 10 charts this season in walks, hits and runs scored.
Tingler has scored 45 runs this season. His personal best of 50 came in the 2000 campaign when he was named a Freshman All-American.
