Missouri Faces Harris-Stowe In Non-Conference Play

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri faces Harris-Stowe (Mo.) in non-conference action at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field. The contest in the 10th and final game of Missouri's current homestand.

Probable Starters: Neither team has announced a starting pitcher.

Last Time Out: Missouri won two of three games from nationally ranked Baylor this past weekend. By winning the series, Missouri recorded its first-ever series win over Baylor since the formation of the Big 12 Conference.

Series: Missouri has not played Harris-Stowe before today's contest.

What A Week: Cody Ehlers hit .500 (5-for-10), scored six runs and walked eight times in the Tigers' four games last week. Lee Laskowski hit .467 (7-for-15) with one triple, one home run and five runs batted in. Abel Newton struck out 10 batters against Baylor on March 22 to give Missouri its first 10 strikeout performance since Logan Dale whiffed 10 against Kansas on March 27, 2000. Travis Wendte picked up a pair of saves and struck out four batters in three innings. Mick Weiss became the first Tiger since ... Ryan Rallo hit two homers against Southwest Missouri State on May 1, 2001 ... to hit two home runs in one game as he hit two homers and a sacrifice fly (in addition to scoring the game-winning run) against Baylor on March 23.

Don't Face Me: W.T. Hoover is one tough out to face as a pinch hitter. Hoover is hitting .429 (3-for-7) when in a pinch-hitting role. Two of his hits have been doubles.

Big 12's Best: Cody Ehlers leads the Big 12 Conference in hitting (.438) and slugging percentage (.822). Ehlers also is tied for second with seven home runs and his .522 on base percentage is also second. Jayce Tingler is tied for eighth with his 27 runs scored while Jody Roughton ranks tied for seventh with his 25 runs batted in.

Mr. RBI: Mick Weiss has made the most of his opportunities when batting with a runner on third base and less than two outs. Weiss has driven in 10 runs (in 14 attempts) when faced in that opportunity. Not far behind Weiss is Lee Laskowski who has driven in eight runs.

Next Up: The Tigers travel to Lubbock, Texas, to meet Texas Tech in a three-game Big 12 Conference series. Game one will be Friday at 7 p.m.
