MU's Barr Named Academic All-District

Kerensa Barr, a junior guard on the University of Missouri women's basketball team, was named to the 2002 Verizon Academic All-District VII Team, chosen by the district's members of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Barr, who has a 3.85 grade-point average in business administration, leads the Tigers in scoring (15.8 points per game), assists (106) and steals (49) while ranking third in rebounds (6.0 per game).

Barr becomes the seventh member of the Missouri women's basketball program to be named as an all-district selection. She advances to the national ballot and that team will be released on March 8.

To qualify, an individual needs to be nominated by a school's sports information office and have a 3.20 GPA while either serving as a starter or as a significant reserve. The student-athlete must also be at least a sophomore in eligibility and have completed at least one year at the institution.
