COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri junior swimmer Matt Ferrarelli was named co-Big 12 Swimmer of the Month for January on Thursday morning. Sharing the award with Ferrarelli is Brendan Hanson of the University of Texas and Matt Rose of Texas A&M University.

Ferrarelli won all four of his individual races in the month of January and helped lead Missouri relays to first and second place finishes. The Retford Knotts, England native recorded wins in the 200 individual medley and 200 backstroke against Southwest Missouri State and won the 400 IM and 100 freestyle against Drury.

Ferrarelli is currently ranked among the top 20 swimmers in the country in both the 200 and 400 IM. He is the defending Big 12 Champion in the 400 individual medley.
