Career Night: Amy Loftus scored a career-high 16 points to lead the Tigers. Her previous high mark of 10 points came earlier this season against Southeast Missouri (12/1). Despite coming in off of the bench, she also career-high marks with two steals, seven made field goals and nine field goal attempts.
Streaks Fall: Kerensa Barr saw her streak of consecutive free throws fall during Saturday's 78-56 loss to Colorado. Barr, the nation's leading foul shooter, entered the game with 25 straight made free throws. Barr sank a foul shot on her first trip to the line but missed her first attempt on her next trip to the charity stripe. She rebounded quickly to make her next one.
Tough Defense: Barr scored a season-low six points Saturday. She had scored at least 10 points in every game this season. In fact, her streak was 20 consecutive games dating back to last season. The last time Barr scored fewer than 10 points was against Colorado in the Big 12 Tournament when she scored eight points as CU picked up the 83-72 win on March 7, 2001. Barr has scored in double digits 23 times in her last 25 games.
Last Time ...: It has been a while since MU had lost three straight games. The last time it happened was during the 1999-2000 season when it lost 72-64 to Colorado on Feb. 26, 80-66 to Nebraska on March 2 and 83-68 to Colorado on March 7 in the Big 12 Conference Tournament. And the last time Missouri failed to score at least 60 points in a game as in the 1996-97 campaign. MU scored 50 points in a 61-50 setback at Iowa State on Jan. 4, 52 points in a 78-52 loss at Colorado on Jan. 8, and 53 points in a 67-53 defeat to Oklahoma State on Jan. 11.
50th Anniversary Not Golden For MU: Missouri and Colorado have now met 50 times and the Buffaloes have now won 29 times. MU has not had much recent success against Colorado as the Tigers have lost two games to the Buffaloes in each of the past two seasons and now have suffered defeats 10 times in the 13 Big 12 Conference meetings.
