COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri women's basketball team will have six of its regular-season games televised this season.
The Tigers, coming off of a berth in the 2001 NCAA Sweet Sixteen, will have their first two games on TV. The Mizzou Sports Network will carry the Tigers' opener at UMKC on Nov. 16, as well as the contest against Southwest Missouri State on Nov. 19.
Mizzou Sports Properties will also broadcast the Tigers' home game against Kansas on Feb. 9. A list of stations carrying the games will be announced at a later date.
The Tigers' other three appearances on TV will be on Fox Sports Net. Missouri's games at Kansas (Jan. 12) and at Texas A&M (Feb. 16) will be joined by the MU/Oklahoma contest (Feb. 23) at the Hearnes Center. These contests are part of the Big 12 Conference's telecast schedule with Fox Sports Net.
"I'm excited to hear that Missouri basketball is going to be shown a number of times on TV against quality opponents," said MU Head Coach Cindy Stein. "We're fortunate to have the opportunity to be on TV not only in the Big 12 Conference package but also with the Mizzou Sports Network."
Fox Sports Net reaches more than 74 million homes through its network of 21 regional sports channels.
