Missouri Has Three Tennis Players Honored

Andrea Friedman was named to the academic all-Big 12 team for the fourth-straight year.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Big 12 Conference announced today that the University of Missouri had three individuals named to the 2001 Women's Tennis Academic All-Big 12 Team.

Caitlin Thompson and Marina Zelenovic were named to the first team (3.20 to 4.0 grade-point average) while Andrea Friedman was a second-team selection (3.0 to 3.19 GPA).

Friedman is a four-time selection to the academic all-conference team while Thompson has been named for the second time.

The Tigers play Oklahoma State Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Waco, Texas, to complete the Big 12 schedule. In the first round of the Big 12 Tournament in Waco, Missouri meets Kansas Thursday at 3 p.m.
