No. 22 Texas A&M Bests Tigers 3-1

Columbia, Mo. - The Tiger softball team (24-21) could not pull off the series sweep Sunday, falling 3-1 to No. 22 Texas A&M (28-12).
In the top of the second inning with two out, Aggie third baseman Jennifer Davis hit a double to centerfield that would score the runners on first and second to give the Aggies a 2-0 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth inning with one out, designated player Melanie Fisher reached second base off a long hit to center field. Erin Erickson then lined out to the first baseman, but Heather Allister had a shot to right center field that would score Fisher from second. Second baseman Jeni Schellert struck out to end the inning, and the Aggies led 2-1.
In the next inning, the Aggies scored another run when Cheryl Fowler scored from second base off a single to right center field by Selena Collins.
The Tigers are back in action Wednesday as they travel to Independence, Mo., to take on Creighton University. From there, the Tigers will continue on to Lawrence to meet up with conference foe Kansas for one game on Thursday.
