
Pepperdine Edges Tigers 2-1

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The University of Missouri baseball team saw its six-game win streak come to an end Sunday as it fell 2-1 to Pepperdine at Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field.
The Tigers are now 11-9-1 while Pepperdine, ranked as high as sixth by Collegiate Baseball, improves to 16-7.
Missouri took a 1-0 lead in the third inning. Kurt Propst walked and went to third base on a hit-and-run base hit by Luke Cassis. Jayce Tingler drove in Propst as the Tigers executed a safety squeeze play.
Pepperdine took a 2-1 lead in the top half of the fourth inning when Dan Haren homered over the center field wall
Missouri had its chances as it had two runners on with no outs in the seventh inning but could not score. The Tigers also got their leadoff man aboard in the ninth inning but stranded him at second base.
Lee Laskowski led Missouri with two hits. Jon Williams kept his hitting streak intact with a single in the seventh inning.
Jay Adams picked up the win for Pepperdine while Mitch Kiler took the loss for Missouri.
The Tigers will face Western Illinois in a two-game series starting Tuesday. Tuesday's game will be 7 p.m. with a 4 p.m. Wednesday contest.
