Women's Golf in 6th Place at Longhorn Classic

Austin, Texas - The University of Missouri women's golf team stands in 6th place of 12 teams competing in the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Classic, which got underway today at Great Hills Golf Club in Austin, Texas. Missouri shot a team round of 308 in the opening 18 holes, which puts them just 10 shots off team leader Baylor (1st - 298). The tournament continues Tuesday with 18 holes, and wraps up with 18 more on Wednesday.
Senior Amelia Moses led the way for MU individuals today with a two-over par round of 74, and stands tied for 5th place overall. She is just three shots off the pace of individual leader Randi Meadows of Texas, who led all golfers with a one-under par 71 Monday.
Fellow senior Jamie Tucker is just one shot back of Moses, and stands tied for 8th place with an opening-round 75. Sophomore Elin Ohlsson is one shot behind Tucker, and is tied for 12th place heading into Tuesday's round, after an opening 18-hole score of 76.
Junior Nisha Sadekar and freshman Tara Jacobsen round out the Tiger contingent. Sadekar shot an 11-over par 83 today and is tied for 50th place overall, while Jacobsen shot an 87 Monday, and is in 64th place.
