PALO ALTO, Calif. - The University of Missouri track and field team posted four qualifying marks after day one of competition at the Stanford Invitational here Mar. 31.
Sophomore Kerry Hils recorded a 10:22.54 in the steeplechase, which is broke her school record and is an NCAA provisional qualifying time. Another sophomore, Russ Bell tossed a 198-5 in the hammer. Both marks are school records.
Junior Ann Marie Brooks ran an automatic qualifying time of 16:06.95 in the 5000m run en route to a fifth-place finish. Brooks' time was also her career-best in the 5k.
Bell along with fellow second-year thrower Christian Cantwell put up provisional marks in the shot put. Cantwell ripped a 62-2.5 and placed second, while Bell fired a 59-3.5 for a fourth-place showing.
