
Tigers Complete Sweep Of Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas- Missouri scored five runs in its final two trips to the plate to defeat Texas A&M on Sunday, 6-5, in front of 3,369 fans at Olsen Field. The victory gave Missouri its first Big 12 Conference sweep on the road since 1997
Starting pitcher Todd Deininger held the Tigers in check for seven innings allowing two runs on only four hits while striking out five.
The Aggie bullpen surrendered four runs, only two earned, in the last two frames to suffer the loss. Brian Strelitz was charged with the loss and his record drops to 0-2.
Missouri used five pitchers to keep the Aggies off balance. Drew Endicott picked up the win to run his record to 2-3. Ryan Stegall shut the Aggies out in the ninth to earn his 11th save of the season.
Center fielder Eric Reed, first baseman Jeff Freeman, left fielder David Evans and short stop Ryan Wardinsky had two hits each for A&M.
Missouri third baseman Landon Brandes went 3-for-5 and drove in a pair of runs in the ninth inning to give Mizzou its first lead of the game. Nick Wilfong accounted for the Tigers' first run with his eighth home run of the season.
With the loss the Aggies record drops to 23-33 overall and 11-19 in Big 12 play. Missouri runs its record to 32-22 overall and 13-14 in the league.
The Tigers return to action Wednesday in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Tournament when they play No. 2 seed Nebraska at 1 p.m. The tournament will be contested at the Southwestern Bell Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Okla.
