
Big Night Looming for MU Swimmers

The Missouri men's swimming and diving team enters the final night of the Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships just 20 behind the Kansas Jayhawks. With a big night, the Tigers could climb out the sixth place slot for the first time since the inception of the Big 12 Conference.
The morning prelims got off to a roaring start for the Tigers thanks to freshman Matt Ferrarelli and sophomore Andy Cole. Both swimmers qualified for tonight's 200 backstroke final. Ferrarelli's time of one minute, 48.58 seconds will have him seeded fifth tonight. That time is also the second fastest in school history. Cole will be seeded eighth tonight after recording a career-best time, one minte, 49.24 seconds.
Two MU swimmers will race in the 200 butterfly consolation race tonight. Freshman Radu Miclaus is in 11th place overall while sophomore Shane Whildin enters the in 14th place.
Junior Charlie Davies will compete in the 200 breaststroke consolations tonight.
