Sept. 25, 2000

For the second week in a row a University of Missouri cross country athlete was named Big 12 Runner of the Week.

Senior Ann Marie Brooks, from St. Joseph, Mo., ran the women's 6K at the Roy Griak Invitational in 21:43. She finished 18th and paced the women's squad to 317 points and a 12th place finish.

"Ann Marie had a fine performance last weekend and we are happy with her performance," said Head Coach Jared Wilmes. "She worked really hard over the summer and it is nice to see the hard work pay off. She is due for more big performances."

Seven of the teams MU faced in last Saturday's race were ranked in the National Coaches poll. The Tigers had three women and three men place in the top-50, which was their best showing at this meet.

The Tigers hit the course this weekend at the Lakefront Invitational in Chicago.
