COLUMBIA, Mo. - Aaron Wilson hit two three-run home runs and Missouri pitching held the Cyclone offense to two hits, as the Tigers shutout Iowa State, 13-0, in Big 12 baseball action Sunday afternoon at Simmons Field. The game ended in the bottom of the seventh because of the Big 12 12-run rule.
The Tigers only scored in two innings, but came up with big numbers in both of the scoring frames, tallying five runs in the fourth and eight runs in the sixth. Wilson hit three-run shots in both of the scoring barrages. Jody Harris and Ralph McCasland combined for a two-hitter. Harris, who raises his record to 8-3, fanned nine batters in six innings of work. Mike Rallo also helped the Missouri cause by going 2-for-2, including a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
Nate Hilton started the game for ISU, going five innings, surrendering six hits and eight runs to tally the loss (1-6). Ben Van Iderstine and Matt Nordby were the only two Cyclones to register a hit.
ISU, which falls to 16-31 overall and 1-22 in Big 12 play, face Oklahoma in Norman next weekend in a three-game set.
