
Missouri Defeats SEMO 8-4

COLUMBIA, Mo.- The winning streak of the Missouri Tigers (23-13, 6-9) reached nine games on Tuesday night with an 8-4 victory over Southeast Missouri State (15-18) in Cape Girardeau. The Tigers, who are in seventh place in the Big 12 Conference, are now set to take on the eighth place Oklahoma Sooners in Columbia this weekend.
The Tigers broke out to a quick 3-0 lead against the Indians. Sacrifice flies by Aaron Wilson and Jon Williams gave Mizzou a 2-0 lead. Freshman Mick Weiss (2-for-5, 3 RBI) then drove in a run with a double giving the Tigers a 3-0 advantage. Missouri added two more runs in the third inning on an RBI single by Williams and another RBI double by Weiss. Weiss would collect his third RBI of the day in the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly to give the Tigers a 6-0 lead.
Logan Dale (4-2) cruised on the mound through five innings before giving up a run in the sixth inning. Dale would go seven frames throwing just over 80 pitches on the night. He struck out five while walking just one batter.
The Tigers added two runs in the eighth inning on RBI's by J.R. Warner (2-for-4) and Jake Epstein (2-for-4). Ralph McCasland pitched a perfect eighth inning before giving up three unearned runs in the ninth. Daniel Rodriguez (0-3) took the loss for SEMO.
