
Missouri Defeats Princeton's Tigers

COLUMBIA, Mo.-The Missouri Tigers used balanced scoring and just 13 turnovers on Sunday afternoon to defeat the Princeton Tigers (1-4) by a score of 80-56 at the Hawkeye Classic in Iowa City, Ia. The Tigers are 2-2 on the season and will host the Mid America Classic this Friday and Saturday at the Hearnes Center in Columbia.
Four Missouri Tigers were in double figures on the day. Julie Helm once again led the Tigers with 15 points while Amy Monsees and Natalie Bright each scored 14. Kesha Bonds added 10 points for Missouri. Helm and Monsees were named to the All-Tournament Team. Both players averaged 15 points in the two games. Monsees' 16 points on Friday was a career-high.
Missouri shot 58 percent from the floor in the first half including 5 of 7 from three-point range. MU led at halftime by a score of 45-32. Missouri frustrated Princeton defensively in the second half as Princeton's Tigers connected for just 7-of-28 shooting in the second half.
